Exercise after pregnancy: When to get started?

If you had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery, it’s generally safe to begin exercising as soon as you feel ready. If you had a C-section, extensive vaginal repair or a complicated birth, talk to your health care provider. Ask your doctor about when to start an exercise program. In the past, health care providers often instructed women to wait at least six weeks after giving birth to begin exercising. But it is common recommendations. To start your post-natal exercise program simply ask your doctor. Your doctor can give you an advice based on the condition of your personal health. Find your personal trainer for that period of time. Exercise with personal trainer will give you flexibility and consistency of sessions. However, most important are that you will be under professional control. After pregnancy exercising with personal trainer can also give you maximum attention to correct exercise technique. The biggest benefit of using personal trainer during after pregnancy exercise is that your trainer designs your post-natal program taking in account all your after pregnancy contraindications.

Exercise after pregnancy: Breast-feeding

Exercise isn’t thought to have any adverse effects on breast milk volume or composition, nor is it thought to affect a nursing infant’s growth. However, some research suggests, that high-intensity physical activity can cause lactic acid to accumulate in breast milk. It’s produce a sour taste a baby might not like.

Solution is simple. If you’re breast-feeding, you can prevent this potential problem by sticking to moderate physical activity and drinking plenty of fluids during and after your workout. After months four to five of breast-feeding, physical activity has less of an impact on your milk because your body produces most milk at feeding time.
